Instructors

Our instructors are experts in the materials they are teaching.  They do not, however, have to be experts in all facets of the game.  To be listed an instructor please submit a video that players can use to improve their skills or physical strength.

Max Shapiro is a former NBA Scout who created and operated basketball camps with John Wooden, Magic Johnson, Pat Riley, Don Nelson and others. He gives individual shooting lessons to junior high and high school boys and girls. He can be reached at 415 479-3400 or max@peopleconnectstaffing.com.

Caren Horstmeyer is a former Pac-10 and West Coast Conference Coach of the Year.  She was the head womens basketball coach at the University of California, Berkeley and Santa Clara University for 17 cumulative years.  She grew up in Marin County, a Greenbrae Elementary , Adeliene E. Kent Junior High, and Redwood High School graduate.  She is a member of the Redwood High School, Marin County and Santa Clara University Athletic Hall of Fame.  After her playing career in the states, she played professionally in Athens, Greece.  She earned her bachelor and masters degree from Santa Clara University.  Caren lives in Marin with her husband Bill and their two children.  Caren spends the majority of her time assisting buyers and sellers as a Real Estate consultant and is also available for basketball consulting for individuals and teams.  She runs one week of basketball camp for girls, from June 22nd - 25th, 2009.  You can visit her websites at www.carenhorstmeyer.com and www.horstmeyerhoops.com.

Alex Pribble is a local product who began his basketball career at Drake High School and was league MVP his senior year.  He went on to play four years of basketball at Cal, where he eventually earned a role as a captain and starting shooting guard.  Alex spent one year as a graduate assistant coach for the Cal team, and currently serves as the head boys basketball coach for Tamalpais High School. David Granucci grew up in Marin County where he went to Sir Francis Drake High School and played 3 years of Varsity Basketball. After graduating, he played for City College of San Francisco (CCSF) where he was MVP of his Conference and first team all-state selection. David then earned a scholarship to San Jose State University (SJSU) where he was captain for 2 seasons and WAC player of the Week during his senior year. After graduating from SJSU David went on to play professionally in Italy.  Since his playing career has ended David has turned to coaching. After assistant coaching at CCSF for the past two seasons, where his teams finished in the top 5 in the state both years, he is now the head assistant at College of Marin (COM). David also works with individuals and groups of all ages on basketball skill development. Tom Poser grew up in Marin County where he currently lives with his wife Sarah and son Charlie.  He played basketball for St. Rita’s CYO, White Hill Junior High School, Drake High School, Santa Barbara City College, UC Santa Barbara, and the Salina Rattlers of the International Basketball Association.  Tom is not available for teaching except for special circumstances as he spends the majority of his time in the commercial real estate world representing office tenants in San Francisco and Marin (www.sanfranciscotenantrep.com).  He suggests you hire one of the great instructors available on this site and get better now.
